” Mentari Sanur – a great choice “ October 19, 2012

Posted by Mentari Sanur Hotel in Guest's Review.

The staff were fabulous, smiling, friendly and happy to help.

At the northern end of Sanur, close to Le Mayeur Museum
We spent 5 very enjoyable nights at the Mentari Sanur. The staff were very friendly and happy to help us. We had two pool rooms, one with king size bed and the other a twin bedroom for our children (13 and 16). We had a interconnecting room between the two.
The beds in both rooms were comfy and spacious and the bathrooms were good. The only improvement would have been coffee and tea making facilities. The pool and restaurant were also good.
Breakfast was adequate with a choice of 3 types (Indonesian, Continental or American). No cereal and the French toast was thinner than we were used to plus did not come with any sauce so was a bit dry.
The hotel is on the outer extremity of the town, about 100m from the beach. To the north the beach is black volcanic sand (more where the locals go) and to the south it is white sand. It is close to the Le Mayeur museum, which is worth a look for the architecture and history, and there are shops nearby, plus a Donut King and KFC. We found the stallholders a bit aggressive (apparently they are worse in Kuta). Whilst in Sanur we went snorkelling and windsurfing plus had massages from a lady at the hotel. Finally, we used the driver Gede on two days.
All in all a good hotel and a good location.
