My wife and I stayed with a group of friends at Mentari Sanur Hotel for about a week at end May into early June 2012. We have stayed there on several occasions in the past and deliberately chose to book our group into Mentari Sanur because of our previous pleasant experiences there including the quite location, friendly staff, beautiful gardens, wonderful pool outside our room and the capacity to interact within the group. Mentari is a three-star hotel which suits us fine. From the front office manager, Ibu Putu Karniti to the ever smiling gardener (whose name I don’t know) who always greets me like a long lost friend the whole staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Such was the outcome that I was totally de-stressed in a manner I consider unique. The rooms are clean and simply furnished and the beds are huge. Breakfast, which is also simple but a great start to the day is served in a dining hall in the middle of complex close to all rooms.
There are money changers and ATMs nearby on Jl Hang Tuah while the beach and its walkway are abut 200 metres down Jl Hang Tuah. A very pleasant 5-6 km stroll awaits the energetic with easy access to Jl Danau Tanblingan shops, bars and restaurants. Some restaurants and shopping is also close to Mentari Sanur and just outside the front gate to the left, are a couple of neighbourhood shops, warung in Bahasa Indonesia, which sell snacks, water and beer at very reasonable prices. The shopkeepers love to have a chat. You can book on line and the tariff is very reasonable and online transfers from the airport are easily arranged – just email ‘Bu Putu at: putukarniti@mentarisanur.com We hope you enjoy Mentari as much as we did.

Superb gardens; helpful happy staff; everything you need; peaceful yet lively location!

The wifi does not always work at your room – however the beautiful open outdoor restaurant is available 24/7
Terrific location – Sanur Beach is majoritively clean & very beautiful..
Very tranquil, relaxing and accommodating! Everything you need at the hotel, the breakfast is more than you need to last beyond lunch. This is a place you can stay all day and enjoy. The beach is in walking distance and on the right along the beach is a stretch of coast which is superb. The area is great & not so crowded. The staff are lovely and helpful for all your needs.
The only negative is there is random wifi in the rooms, sometimes yes then no, however there is unlimited access at the beautiful outdoor garden restaurant.
The beauty of the gardens is second to none & you will not be disappointed with a short or long stay here:)

Stayed here for one week, it was a nice hotel. Large rooms and good prices. The pool is good and the breakfast too. Very friends staff, and very helpful receiptionist.

The location could be better, a short walk to the beach, but the beach isn’t to nice. If i would be staying in the sanur area again I would find a place further south in sanur. There is little to do around the hotel, but further south in sanur there is plenty of shops and restaurants.

intimate atmosphere.

Time to upgrade the televisions, bath and beach towles.
Away from the main restaurant area of Sanur but only a cheap taxi ride away or nice walk along the beachfront
This is the second time we have stayed at the Mentari and would definitely stay at this property again. This was a family holiday to celebrate my brother’s 60th birthday. Our party ranged in age from 21 to 70 years. This is the Bali experience we remember from our first visits in the 1980’s. If you want to visit Bali without feeling like you are in Bali then this isn’t the property for you. The gardens are beautifully maintained. The rooms are more than adequate and the little restaurant is a great place to start your day. This is an intimate property and it is great to be able to go from room to pool to restaurant without walking for miles. After busy days on the streets of Bali this property is a welcome haven. To enter the property you must go down a laneway but this never caused any of us any problems. To get to the beachfront and markets we walked through the Bali Beach Hotel as the entry to this property is opposite the laneway to the Mentari. This is a pleasant walk
under shadey trees and even pathways. Once on the beach we walked down to the Santrian hotel and walked through this property to get to the main restaurant area.
To improve this property we would like to see new tv’s and bath/beach towels. NO big deal however.
